Department of Computer Science and Applications
The Department of Computer Science and Application offer courses like B. Sc (CSE), B. Sc (IT), BCA, M. Sc (CSE), M. Sc (IT), and MCA has been formulated in such a way that students get trained for self-employment and higher education in various fields. Industrial Visits, In-Plant trainings, Mini Projects are the various components which train students for the trendy social needs and to give them an opportunity to get themselves involved in various computing activities. The computer lab is well-equipped with all modern facilities. It has 2 dot matrix line printers & laser printers. It is furnished with 4 servers and 3 backup servers, and 250 dual core computers in the client server architecture.

Department of English & Personality Development
The Department of English and Personality Development is one of the very dynamic Departments which educate students on the requirements of today's Competitive world. It was on track on July 2009 with a handful of students and now it is gleaming with more than 50 students as its Strength. The Course is of high flexibility which was planned towards individual development of students. The Department offers UG & PG course along with computer as one of the Paper so as to equip students for the trendy needs.
The Department has initiated need-based syllabi for all programmes, keeping in mind social and national needs as well as student competence and imbibes essential and universal values implicit in literature and life.. Courses such as "English Language Teaching", "Communicative Skills in English" and "Journalism" have taken innovative shapes and directives in line with the current educational needs. More concern is given towards budding skills like Reading, Writing, Speaking and listening among students so that they face the world with complete self-confidence.
Our department is facilitated with a fully equipped Language lab which helps students to train themselves in developing their communicative skills. We do have a vibrant forum THE ENGLISH LITERARY ASSOCIATION where our students involve and participate in various literary competitions like Quiz, Elocution, Debate, Poetry writing and prizes are distributed. This forum mainly concentrates in building extra -curricular talents among students.

ADMISSION GUIDANCE
- Interested candidates should apply by specifying the course in the prescribed application which is appended here with.
- Candidates should apply within the stipulated time.
- The application should be complete in all aspects.
- Eligible applicants will be called for a personal interview.
- At the time of attending the personal interview, all the required certificates in original need to be produced.
- Successful candidates will be provisionally selected.
- They have to pay the fee within the stipulated time.
- Only on full payment of the prescribed fee, the candidates will be admitted in the respective courses
POST-GRADUATE COURSES
For Post graduate Courses, Candidate should take up the Entrance Examination.
COLLEGE FEES
- All payments can be made in the college office during working hours with the permission of the concerned H.O.Ds.
- All the fee must be paid on due date.
- Non payment of fees will result in removal of the names of defaulters from the rolls of the college.
- Removal of the names from the rolls of the college will result in forfeiture of attendance till the date of re-admission.
- For re-admission, in addition to the fee dues, the re-admission fee of Rs. 100/-*& a penalty will be levied.(*Subject to change)
- Fee once paid is not refundable on any account.
Students discontinuing the course at any time after payment of fees will not be eligible for any refund

RULES AND REGULATIONS
- Usage of Cell phones inside the college campus is strictly prohibited.
- Exchange of greetings with the members of staff in the college and hostel by saying Happy Morning is highly recommended.
- Students are expected to use only courteous and polite language and behave with decorum when talking to the faculty members and the staff of the college and hostel.
- Students shall avoid using any insulating, inciting, threatening language when talking with fellow students and should totally avoid violence. Students shall not talk or act in any manner outside the institution in a way that would bring disrepute to the institution.
- Students should come in formals and casuals are alowed only in saturdays.
- They shall be regular and punctual in attending classes and all activities connected with the college.
- Gathering in groups at roads, entrance, exit, pathways, gardens, etc., is strictly prohibited.
- On entering the class, they shall observe strict silence, irrespective of the presence or absence of the teacher.
- No student is permitted to leave the College Premises once he enter into the college.
- Students should not leave the class or attend it late under the pretext of paying fees or taking books from libraries. Time fixed for such purposes during working hours must be strictly followed.
- Students are expected to read or notices/circulars displayed on the College Notice Board. Ignorance of not reading any notices/circular thus displayed shall not be accepted as an excuse failing to comply with the directions contained in it.
- All vehicles should be parked in the allotted place. Vehicles found parked in unauthorized places shall be impounded.
- While attending College functions, the students will conduct themselves in such a way as to bring credit to themselves and to the institution.
- Students will promptly stand to solemn attention when prayer or National Anthem is being played in the function.
- Splitting, smoking and throwing bits of paper inside the college campus are harmful and must be avoided.
- Students are forbidden from entering the college office and the staff rooms during unspecified hours.
- Students are prohibited from damaging the building or furniture in any way. The cost of any damage so caused will be recovered from the students collectively if the responsibility for it cannot be fixed on any individual or group of individuals.
- Representation of complaints and grievances may be made individually to the principal through the Head of the Department.
- Students are strictly forbidden from engaging themselves in any political or other movement.
- No meeting of any kind shall be held in the college premises without the written permission of the principal.
- No notice of any kind shall be circulated among students or displayed on black boards or on notice board without the written permission of the principal. No information or report should be sent to press on board casting agencies without the permission and approval of the principal.
- The principal will deal with students who play a leading part by organizing or otherwise assisting activity in strikes.
- The principal's decision shall be the final in all matters of punishment of the students for violation of any of the rules and regulations of the college.
- If a student leaves the College after two months from the date of commencement of the classes, he/she shall have no right to claim remission of any portion of the term fees.
GENERAL INFORMATIONS
COMPUTER CENTRE
- Each student should write his/her Name, Login Number, System Number, Course Name, IN time and OUT time in the register provided.
- He shall be responsible for the system he uses. He has to bear the cost for lost and damaged components.
- Student floppies and CDs are not allowed inside the lab.
- Students should use their own logins.
- Students are instructed not to cause any damage to the system hardware, peripherals and software.
- Software manuals are only for reference purpose.
- Footwear and baggage are not allowed inside the Computer Centre.
PROCEDURE FOR COMPLETING THE COURSE
A candidate can join the course of study of any semester only at the time of its normal commencement and only if he/she has satisfied the course requirements for the previous semester and if any. However, if the candidate is prevented from registering for the University Examinations as per regulations because of his/her having arrears in earlier semesters, this rule will not be operative for the next semester.
- To be eligible to register for the fifth semester a candidate should have passed in all subjects prescribed for first and second Semester.
- To be eligible to register for the seventh semester a candidate should have passed in all subjects prescribed for III and IV Semesters.
- However, the entire course should be completed within 12 consecutive semesters.
- A candidate transferred from other Universities can join the institution only at the beginning of odd semesters.
NOTE : Candidates permitted to transferred from other universities subject to the recommendation of the Dean, faculty of Engineering and the approval of the MANONMANIAM SUNDARANAR UNIVERSITY, Tamilnadu will be allowed to register only in the beginning of odd semesters.
PROVISION FOR WITHDRAWAL (Common for all)
A candidate may for valid reasons, and on the recommendations of the Head of the Institutions be granted permission by the University to withdraw from writing the entire semester examination as one Unit. The withdrawal application shall be valid only if it is made earlier than the commencement of the last theory examination pertaining to that semester. Withdrawal shall be permitted only once during the entire course. Other conditions being satisfactory, candidates who withdraw are also eligible to be awarded, DISTINCTION whereas they are not eligible to be awarded a rank.
DISCONTINUATION OF COURSE
If a candidate wishes to temporarily discontinue the course for valid reasons, he/she shall apply through the Head of the Institution in advance and obtain a written order from the University permitting discontinuance. A candidate after temporarily discontinuous may rejoin the course only at the commencement of the semester at which he/she discontinued, provided he/she pays the prescribed fees to the University. The total period of the completion of the course reckoned from the commencement of the first semester to which the candidate was admitted shall not in any case exceed 7 years, including of the period of discontinuance.
RAGGING AND EVE-TEASING
Ragging and Eve-Teasing are considered as crime and strictly prohibited by an act promulgated by the government of Pondicherry with the penalty of Rs.10,000 and two years imprisonment. If any student indulges in any form of ragging or Eve-Teasing inside the college or hostel premises or outside, he/she will summarily expelled from the College as well as from the Hostel.
REVISION OF REGULATIONS AND CURRICULUM
The University may have from time to time revise, amend or change the regulations of curriculum and syllabus as and when found necessary.

SCHOLARSHIPS
National Scholarships Scheme
Education Department Govt. of Pondicherry awards these scholarships to the candidates who are Indian citizens and residents of Union Territory of Pondicherry. The scholarship is awarded to meritorious students with 60% marks and above in the aggregate in the qualifying examination in the first attempt whose parental income does not exceed Rs.25, 000 per annum. Value of scholarship is Rs.120 per month for day-scholars and Rs.300 per month for hostlers. There is no income ceiling for P.G. students.
Pondicherry State Post-Metric Scholarship Scheme
Criteria for the award of scholarship area is same as National Scholarship Scheme.
National Scholarship Scheme for the Children of Primary and Secondary School Teachers
These scholarships are awarded to the children of working teachers of recognized pre-primary, primary and secondary schools in Union Territory of Pondicherry. Other criteria for the award of scholarship are same as National Scholarship Scheme.
Post-Metric Scholarship Scheme to the Scheduled Caste Students
The Directorate awards the scholarships for welfare of scheduled castes, Government of Pondicherry, to the students who are Indian citizens and residents of Union Territory of Pondicherry. The scholarship is awarded to the students who have secured at least 55% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination and whose parental income does not exceed Rs.24, 000 per annum.
