Scholarships
Lots of Scholarships are available for deserving students based on the results of the examinations they appeared, as well as on the percentage of attendance (not less than 90 %) earned during their courses of study. Usually scholarships are sanctioned during the first year of study and are tenable for the entire period of the course of study, provided their academic progress, proficiency, conduct and character are satisfactory.
- State Government Scholarships
Scholarships are also granted to the college students by the Government of Puducherry. Merit Scholarships are awarded to the bright students who secured 60 % or more marks in the previous studies.
The Government is also granting Scholarships to the students based on their community and parental annual income.
- National Merit Scholarships
The Government of India has formulated a National Scholarships Scheme for awarding Merit Scholarships to the post-matric students. Under this scheme, the Scholarships are awarded on the basis of the results of H.S.C. or any other equivalent Examinations.
- National Loan Scholarships
The Central Government has evolved a National Loan Scholarships Scheme also. The main objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the needy and meritorious students so as to enable them to pursue their higher education. The scheme also provides incentives to bright students to choose teaching as their profession.
- ACHARIYA EDUCATIONAL PUBLIC TRUST'S SCHOLARSHIP
A number of merit scholarships are regularly awarded to meritorious students every year, besides free education with free food and accommodation to economically poor and down trodden students to pursue their higher studies.
Apart from these, there is lot of charitable trusts and philanthropic organizations that extends their supports by way of financial assistance to the needy and meritorious students to pursue and complete their courses of study in the college.
Career and guidance cell
This cell consists of the Principal and three faculty members. The major functions of the cell are to integrate all details of various job avenues and guide the students through counseling. This helps them in making effective career planning corresponding to their interests, skill and ability. Further, the cell will go on collecting comprehensive information about various employers and also keep a wide range of current job openings especially, in the field of computer technology as well as consumer product marketing. Campus interview by leading companies will also be arranged.
Personality Development
During the course of study the students have to be necessarily exposed to the concept of personality development. Apart from acquiring knowledge, skill development occupies a pivotal place in personality development. We shape the students to acquire specialized workshops and training.
Institute-Industry Interface
We consciously encourage the system of institutes, industry interaction with a wide cross section of eminent academicians, industrialists and professionals. Industrial sponsoring etc., make the students to develop their organizational skills, understand the contemporary issues of the industrial employees.
Tutorial System
Under this system all the students of the college are divided into several batches. Each batch is placed under the direct care of an individual teacher who assists them by advice, and allows them for consultation on all matters of academic and social nature.
PTA
Parents Teachers Association is one of the important associations of this college. This association is the pioneer to various other link associations and program undertaken by the college for the past few years. The suggestions given by the parents are given due respect and the freedom given to the parents is very vivid from the fact that the president itself is a parent .The college adheres to the suggestions and takes the necessary steps for the overall welfare of the students.
Newspaper
College is keenly focused on the overall development of the student be it interpersonal or intrapersonal, with this regard leading newspapers such as THE HINDU and BUSINESS LINE are distributed to the students every day.
SMS Facility
Unique facility of our college wherein important news, unexpected holidays, general information, students absentees are messaged to the parents every day.
Training
The demand for trained manpower for the industry and the increasing competitive scenario has created a need for quality education. The students pursuit of professional excellence take up :
- Tally Financial Accounting Programme - Complete accounting and management tool
- Company Secretaryship Course - Conducted by ICSI (The Institute of Company Secretaries of India).
- Networking courses are also conducted for students on the following areas : CCNA—CISCO CERTIFIED NETWORK ADMINISTRATORS, MCP—MICROSOFT CERTIFIED PROFESSIONALS and MCSE—MICROSOFT CERTIFIED SOFTWARE ENGINEERS .
- PG Entrance exam training has been started for pre-final year degree students, from 2007. This is being conducted under the expert guidance of an experienced to face various Common Entrance Examination for PG Courses and also help them in performing well in campus interviews.
